The two founders had first crossed paths in 2018, when Deniel was a vice president working with startups and established businesses to develop innovative web and mobile platforms.
With more than 23 years of combined business and IT expertise, he has a comprehensive understanding of the sector and a strong passion for building service platforms to digitise many areas.
Lim Ting, a self-made businessman, has toured the globe while running several companies. His objective is to employ digital transformation to increase everyone's access to and affordability of food and transportation, especially for small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs).
Geolah was created during the "circuit breaker" era, and Deniel's personal experience as a private-hire vehicle (PHV) driver inspired the business concept. He had noted a number of issues and holes in the conventional ride-hailing business model, so the two of them set out to address them.
I discovered that the business concept had genuine problems and holes. We soon discovered potential answers, and Geolah was subsequently established by locals for locals.

Their goal with Geolah is to develop a superapp that provides a variety of reasonably priced transportation services and implement 0% commission fees for partner-drivers.
Drivers are not required to pay commission fees.

Deniel claims that some of the distinguishing characteristics of Geolah are that it provides its drivers with flexible work schedules and a better work-life balance, as well as reasonable ride prices and a computerised driver onboarding procedure.
Additionally, they implemented zero-commission costs for its driver partners, which means that all ride charges go directly to the drivers, enabling them to cover everyday necessities like daily car rentals, gas, parking, etc.
The increasing cost of gas and automobile rentals results in lesser income for drivers. To be able to cover their daily necessities, we want our pool of partner-drivers to earn as much money as possible.

Major platform players, on the other hand, charge drivers commission fees that range from 10% to 20% of each trip. Drivers can only take advantage of rebates or incentives if they travel a specified number of miles within a certain time frame.
Deniel stated that although Geolah allows partner-drivers to earn the maximum amount of money, they instead profit from rebates from strategic partners. As a channel for sponsored content for both passengers and drivers, Geolah enables major brands to create targeted advertising campaigns and promotions on its platform. Over time, the company believes that this will become a significant source of revenue.
The cost of a journey on Geolah is determined by the type of service, the distance travelled, and the availability of the driver with the goal of offering passengers inexpensive rates.
Within the next 24 months, the business hopes to hire 2.5% of the local drivers in the TDVL and PDVL pools, which currently numbers around 540 drivers. According to Deniel, there are currently about 90,000 TDVL and 47,000 PDVL drivers in Singapore, using data from the Land Transport Authority.
Business strategy for the following two years
Geolah will gradually roll out other services over the course of the next two years, including carpooling, AirportXpress, CrossBorder, land tours, package, food, and grocery delivery services.

On February 14, 2023, its ride-hailing service GeoRide will begin accepting reservations for one, four, or eight-hour rides in private-hire automobiles, fixed-meter taxis, and private chauffeurs.
On February 14, 2023, its ride-hailing service Geolah will start a beta testing that will last for one, four, or eight hours and allow users to book private-hire automobiles, fixed-meter taxis, and private chauffeurs.
Geolah will launch "community rides" in the third quarter of this year with the intention of offering discounted and free rides.
Our pool of partner-drivers will be informed and inspired to volunteer their services to provide transportation, such as picking up and delivering animals from the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) to veterinarians. We are also working with other nonprofit organisations to provide transportation services for the elderly, disabled, and underprivileged in our community.

Next, Geolah will launch its on-demand package delivery service, GeoMove, in the first half of this year.
The company will then begin offering its online food ordering service GeoBites, online grocery delivery service GeoMart, and transportation service GeoTrans starting in 2025.
In particular, GeoTrans is a feature that is exclusive to Geolah, which provides heavy trucking services for both B2C and B2B segments, including ambulance, buses, and trucks.
Geolah aims to bring on more users and drivers with this array of services, combined with its zero-commission costs and reasonable prices. It aims to reach "thousands of users" by the end of 2023.
Its ultimate goal is to develop into a "superapp," and to do this, it must first amass a sizable user base, a high engagement model, and a solid ecosystem of key partners.
In order to deliver a better customer experience and a dependable infrastructure, we must continue to develop and evolve. We place a strong emphasis on educating our partner-drivers about accepting our zero-commission pricing and being receptive to feedback as part of our aim to [get greater] market share. We firmly believe that doing so aids in identifying potential areas for expansion of the Geolah community.

Deniel asserts that as a self-funded startup, the founders have made enough investments to keep the company afloat for five years. They are currently growing the team and recruiting top talent to join the organisation as part of their growth objectives.
To expand its user base and revenue sources, they are also looking into new markets in Southeast Asia and the Asia Pacific. They specifically want to debut in Brunei, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Laos, as well as Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand.
They are open to partnerships and collaborations and are seeking to identify new technologies and trends to include into the platform.
